First 2017 convivial activity of the “Accademia Italiana della Cucina”, London delegation
Last night our chef Enzo Oliveri welcomed president Maurizio Fazzari, secretary Mariano Bonetto and all the members. What a great way to start the new year!
Among the guests, we were delighted to welcome Joanna Shields (pictured here next to Enzo Oliveri): she serves the country as UK Minister for Internet safety and security, she’s active on protecting children and vulnerable people online.
As explained on its website, “the moment of the banquet is intended in the Dantesque sense. Every convivial meeting is in fact an occasion for cultural interventions bound to the moment, the place and the circumstance. Conviviality is, moreover, an expression of hospitality, of the communication of the life, intelligence and diplomacy, which often makes very different table companions more reasonable and well-disposed”.
The Accademia donated some copies of the new book in Italian “La Cucina del Riuso” (The Cuisine of reuse, pictured): it rediscovers methods from traditional cooking which employ partially used ingredients to create new recipes and flavours!
Members enjoyed Sicilian traditional food and great wines from Sicily: Surya and Grillo (Principi di Butera), and Perricone (Tasca) were amazing and we thank these extraordinary wineries for their support.
