Meet actress Anna Malvica who makes History of Sicilian theatre

Actress Anna Malvica is the dame of Sicilian theatre. For more than 30 years she has been applauded on stages both for her comic and dramatic roles, with the iconic musical “Pipino Il Breve” and her Pirandello’s characters among the most famous performances of her awarded career.

Generations of Sicilian actors have learned about Theatre through her lessons at the School of Teatro Stabile in Catania, Sicily.
Not only she personally met actor Turi Ferro, but he shared the stage with him as co-protagonist.

This summer Anna Malvica Bolignari is spending a couple of weeks in London, where she loves attending musicals and plays in the West End. So she kindly accepted the invitation by SicilyCulture and visited our restaurant Tasting Sicily UK Enzo’s Kitchen for a typical Sicilian meal!

She met our chef Enzo Oliveri and congratulated him for his food, so authentic as her mum’s: in fact, she was born in Rome from Palermo parents. For this reason she is able to appreciate traditional recipes as hot panelle and yummy sweet and sour pumpkins. She also discussed about Sicilian culture with managers Luisa Ingoglia and Andrea Scarpignato.

After success in Rome, Anna Malvica is going to have a long tour in Italy this coming winter with Pirandello’s play “Il Berretto a Sonagli” starring Gianfranco Jannuzzo directed by Francesco Bellomo.
